OUR MISSION ...

is to teach small business development, goal setting, marketing, communication skills, and leadership development to our clients.

We do this by providing practice building consulting, continuing education seminars, speaking engagements, workshops and professional writing. We welcome all opportunities to present our ideas in small and large forums - for individual practitioners, group practices, professional organizations and the health care industry.

We are also dedicated to achieving excellence in our own careers and in the many segments of our personal lives. We are committed to becoming a product of the best of what we teach and the best of what our profession stands for.

We understand that you are going to be learning some new skills. We encourage you to let yourself go, be a kid again and have fun learning and exploring new things.

IN THIS SPIRIT, we hope to challenge you... and train you... and make you feel excited and enthusiastic... about the practice building training you are about to begin with Kolt Consulting.

OUR PURPOSE ...

TO HELP PSYCHOTHERAPISTS...

build healthy practices during this time of challenge within the evolving health care system.

We believe that our profession demands new avenues of continuing education to keep healthy practices thriving, and not just surviving. We know that the qualities that make a very competent therapist do not necessarily make equally successful business people.

WE ARE ALSO COMMITTED TO...

participating in projects targeted to educate the public about the true value of what we do, so they feel comfortable choosing a therapist to improve the quality of their lives - on individual, couples, family, work and organizational levels.

What others have said:

"Over the years, I have been personally involved with the governance of organized psychology and our nation's public policy developement. I have become increasingly impressed by the extent to which an individual can make real difference in the policies adopted by national bodies and in the lives of ordinary citizens. Dr. Kolt joins the ranks of those making a real difference by sharing her leadership, vision, and expertise in this book.

Dr. Kolt provides clear and practical models and procedures for equiping a practitioner to confront such issues as the following:
  • How do practitioners survive in the midst of unprecendented changes over which individual clinicians appear to have little control? (Managed Care)
  • How do dedicated clinicians, extraordinarily skilled in the theory and techniques of helping people, also develop the skills necessary to see the bigger picture and ensure that their practices remain economically viable and professionally rewarding in today's uncharted waters?
  • Where are the future markets that would welcome and benefit from quality psychological expertise?

These are some of the complex issues that very few of our training programs have ever addressed. Dr. Kolt's innovative trainning helps practitioners as well as educators understand these issues."

-Patrick H. DeLeon, Ph.D., J.D.
President, 2000, American Psychological Association

"Changes in the health care delivery system have made it difficult for psychologists to practice ethically and autonomously. Nevertheless, like me, there are many experienced and new clinicians who see independent practice as the way in which they want to serve the public. Dr. Kolt's training provides all of us with useful and creative ways to successfully meet the goal of a rewarding practice which meets the myriad needs of the American people."

-Dorothy W. Cantor, Psy.D.
